DeKalb Police Special Victims Unit executes search warrant at Tuxworth Springs Condominiums

A large police presence descended on the Tuxworth Springs Condominiums in greater Decatur on Wednesday morning, Aug. 7.
The condominiums are located off of Scott Boulevard.
Numerous readers contacted Decaturish wanting to know what was happening. A witness reported a dozen uniformed officers, four or five detectives and a large truck.
A spokesperson for the DeKalb County Police Department said officers were executing a search warrant.
“The Special Victims Unit conducted the search warrant,” the spokesperson said. “I cannot get into the specifics of the warrant.”
The officers did not arrest anyone.
According to the county, “The Special Victims Unit is responsible for investigating a wide range of criminal cases. The unit handles missing persons (children and adults), harassing phone calls and sexual related crimes ranging from child molestation to rapes of adults and juveniles. The unit also handles child deaths that are connected to abuse.”
