For the past seven years, the East Lake Foundation has hosted five Bank of America Student Leaders for a summer internship.
One of this year’s interns, Rashan Schoffner, graduated from Charles R. Drew Charter School this past May and will be attending Howard University this fall to study film directing and producing.
Throughout the summer, the Atlanta Student Leaders worked in the community with many East Lake Initiative partners, helping out with senior citizen events, tutoring and mentoring teenagers, counseling the STEAM summer camp at Drew Charter School, and more.
“The Student Leaders Program recognizes and rewards high school juniors and graduating seniors for their passion and commitment to community service by placing them in paid internships across the U.S.,” a press release from the East Lake Foundation and Bank of America says.
