This Sunday, Aug. 25, a local non-profit, Community Farmers Markets (CFM), will team up with Wild Heaven Beer to host its third annual Southern Pig Roast event.

According to the group, CFM works to “support local farmers and quality food accessibility for all.” CFM operates throughout Decatur, East Atlanta Village, Grant Par and the Beltline, and they host educational outreach programs and events as well.

The event will feature a whole pig raised by Riverview Farms and smoked by Brian Wolfe of Kimball House, American-Humane-Certified chicken from Springer Mountain Chicken and vegetarian sides from Rising Son and Farm Burger.

Additionally, the event, which takes place from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Wild Heaven Beer in Avondale Estates, will feature local craft beer, live music and a raffle.

Tickets cost $40 for one and $70 for two, with tickets available for those under 21. Kids under 5 are free to attend. Tickets include 36 ounces of Wild Heaven Beer, a family style meal and a commemorative beer glass, and they can be purchased online here.

Proceeds will benefit the educational and food access programming at Decatur Farmers Market, which runs each Wednesday and Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Decatur.
