On Friday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw in partnership with various local organizations will present the fourth annual Refugee Career Summit, held at Georgia State University’s Clarkston Campus at 555 North Indian Creek Drive in Clarkston.

Three years ago, Friends of Refugees organized the Refugee Career Summit in order to help local immigrants and refugees with their career path. The event includes employers that are looking to network with and provide opportunities for attendees.

“I am pleased to have partnered with Friends of Refugees, Georgia State University, Africans Immigrants Communities Inc., Coalition of Refugee Service Agencies, DeKalb County Department of Human Resources, Worksource DeKalb and the many sponsors who have mobilized their services and resources to bring forth this necessary event for all DeKalb County constituents,” Commissioner Bradshaw said in a recent press release.

There will be employment workshops to start off the event, and there will be a job fair. Those looking to be hired should bring their ID as well as a resume, according to a recent press release.
