Decatur says installation of a new traffic signal on Talley Street and South Columbia Drive will begin Sept. 11.

Construction will take two or three months, the city says.

“Once completed, South Columbia Drive, Shadowmoor Drive, and Talley Street will all be signalized,” the city said on its Decatur Makeover website. “A new crosswalk at South Columbia and Shadowmoor is also included.”

The intersection will be open to vehicles and pedestrians, but lane closures are possible, the city says.

The city said, “Please be mindful of the many pedestrians utilizing this intersection while it is under construction and proceed through the area with caution and patience.”
