Free disposal of items at Seminole Road Landfill for DeKalb County residents, Oct. 19

On Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the third annual Landfill Amnesty Day will be held at the Seminole Road Landfill, located at 4203 Clevemont Road in Ellenwood.

Hosted by the DeKalb County Sanitation Division, this is a day for residents to dispose of items at the landfill for free. Proof of residency in DeKalb County will be enforced.

The following items can be disposed of for free, according to a recent press release:

– Bagged garbage

– Yard trimmings

– Tree limbs

– Furniture

– Small and large appliances

– Playground equipment

– Tires (limit to 10 tires per resident/car)

– Construction/demolition materials (fencing, decking, carpet, etc.)

In addition, hazardous materials will not be taken, and commercial vehicles/participation is not allowed.
