DeKalb County public safety personnel are on the scene of a fatal plane crash on Peachwood Circle.

According to the county, a small-engine plane crashed into a town home a little after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

“DeKalb Peachtree Airport confirmed that two people were on the plane that took off from the airport,” the county says. “DeKalb Fire Rescue has confirmed one death. There are no confirmed injuries in the complex.”

Following the initial announcement, the county confirmed another fatality in the crash.

The victims have been identified as two North Carolina men: Leslie Csanyi Jr., 59, and Scott Robert Lowrie, 60.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. Six of the town homes at Clairmont Hills have been declared unsafe until further notice due to structural damage and fuel vapor.

The crash temporarily closed one lane of I-85 frontage road near Peachtree Circle Northeast. That lane has since reopened.
