Report: Decatur Fire captain provides crucial assist in south Fulton kitten rescue

A few weeks ago, things weren’t going too well for Tiny Rafael.

The orange kitten was trapped inside a hole inside a cell phone tower in south Fulton County, WSB-TV reports.

But sometimes, there’s an animal control officer and a friendly fire captain willing to lend an assist.

Fulton County Animal Control Officer Jay Fullmer spent two weeks dropping food to the kitten and trying to figure out a way to get him out of there. Fulmer’s step-dad lives in Decatur.

Then, Decatur Fire and Rescue Captain Gary Menard had an idea. They used a collapsible pipe to lift the kitten to safety.
