There will be two projects this week that will affect traffic on Commerce Drive.

Starting Monday, Oct. 21, Lewallen Construction will mill and resurface West Ponce de Leon Avenue at Commerce Drive, Swanton Way at Commerce Drive and West Trinity Place at Commerce Drive. The work is part of the construction of the Commerce Drive Cycle Track. That work is expected to last three to four days. The intersections will remain open, but the work will likely cause delays, the city says.

Starting on Tuesday, Oct. 22, sewer work will be performed on Beaumont Place over the course of three days, which will also affect traffic flow on Commerce Drive.

According to a recent press release, “a temporary by-pass device across Commerce Drive” will be in place starting Tuesday, Oct. 22. The device, which will “use a flexible hose with a temporary ramp across the roadway,” will be adjacent to the 1133 On The Square apartment complex. Commerce Drive will be open to traffic. However, delays should be expected because of the project.
