Emory Point to host recycling event on America Recycles Day, this Friday

On America Recycles Day, this Friday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Emory Point is hosting their second recycling event this year, Emory Point Recycles, and all are invited to participate.

This past spring, Emory Point’s recycling event resulted in the collection of 20.08 tons of recyclables, according to a recent press release. The 20.08 tons included:

– 9,742 pounds of electronic waste

– 1,720 pounds of construction debris

– 7,200 pounds of shredded documents

– 940 pounds of paper, plastic, and metal

According to a recent press release, “even more materials were kept out of landfills through the event, including 1,157 gallons of paint; 275 units of mercury bulbs; 4,900 pounds of wood, glass and cardboard; and 18 pieces of furniture.”
