Folk Art has announced it will officially open on Nov. 18 following a “soft opening” this week.

This will be the second location for the Inman Park-based restaurant. It will be located at  174 West Ponce de Leon Ave, a space that was previously home to Thumbs Up Diner.

Touting “Artful Eats for Simple Folks,” Folk Art Restaurant offers “creative takes on Southern classics, inspired versions of comfort food of every variety, and a delicious assortment of handcrafted cocktails.”

Folk Art opened in Inman Park in 2012 and has been featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.”

Other accolades include being named Best Waffles in Georgia, one of the Best Brunches in Atlanta, and being recognized for kid-friendly dining.

It’s owned by Randy Parks, a Decatur resident, and Rhoda Hill.

“Staying true to their legendary brunchy roots, Folk Art Decatur features a full menu similar to the original Inman Park outpost,” a press release from the company says. “The gorgeous new space includes a full bar, a fantastic assortment of local, craft beers on tap, dining room seating for 138, with an 17 spots at the bar, and 10 on the patio.
