Local elections are today, Nov. 5.

There will be elections in DeKalb County cities, including Decatur, Avondale Estates and Tucker. All county voters will be asked to vote on a referendum to changes the appointment process for the county’s ethics board.

Go vote.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you are still in line at 7 p.m., you will be able to vote. To see your sample ballot and your polling location, visit the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page by clicking here. Decaturish will post election results this evening after the polls close. You have to be 18 to vote. You will also need to bring one of the following forms of ID, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office:

– Any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free ID Card issued by your county registrar’s office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS)

– A Georgia Driver’s License, even if expired

– Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state

– Valid U.S. passport ID

– Valid U.S. military photo ID

– Valid tribal photo ID

There are precinct changes in Decatur this year.

Renfroe Middle will no longer serve as a polling place for District 2 in the city of Decatur.

According to the city, voters affected by the change should have received a postcard from DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections notifying them of their new polling place.

These voters will vote in one of the following two locations:

– Decatur Precinct – Evergreen Baptist Church, 303 Fourth Avenue

– Oakhurst Precinct – Oakhurst Baptist Church, 222 East Lake Drive

In 2017, Winnona Park Elementary also stopped serving as a polling location. According to the county, those voters now vote at Columbia Theological Seminary, Richard Center, located at 701 S. Columbia Drive, Decatur 30030.
