People are invited to gather at the intersection of Clarendon Avenue and South Avondale Road on Dec. 2 for the city of Avondale Estates’ annual Christmas tree lighting.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m.

“This is a rain-or-shine event,” the city says. “The Avondale First Baptist Church will begin caroling at 6:30 p.m. The Christmas tree lighting will be between 6:50 p.m. and 7 p.m. Hot apple cider and Krispy Kreme Donuts will be served after the tree lighting. Santa Claus will make a special personal appearance for the occasion.”
