A teacher at the Museum School of Avondale Estates has been awarded a scholarship by the Association of American Educators Foundation (AAEF) to assist her in attending a conference.

Erica Marsh, the teacher who won the scholarship, plans to attend the conference to learn about the latest research on the effects of anxiety on the brain as well as strategies to support students in overcoming these challenges, according to an AAEF press release.

In her submission, Marsh wrote that she also plans to present her newly gained knowledge at the school so that her colleagues and students can benefit from her attendance at the conference.

“AAEF commends the dedication [Marsh] has demonstrated in securing funding to provide a better learning environment and ‘whole student’ support,” AAEF Senior Professional Programs Manager Melissa Pratt said. “These scholarships and grants are an investment in empowering teachers as professionals and supporting student outcomes in all educational communities nationwide.”
