One of the Decatur area’s most confusing intersections is now even more confusing due to an error by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

GDOT got mixed up and installed the signs for Medlock Road and North Decatur Road backwards, as shown in the photo above. As local residents know, the signs are supposed to be the other way around.

A spokesperson for the county says GDOT is aware of the issue and will fix it soon, though the signs were still incorrect as of Thursday morning, Dec. 12.

“This is a state project and the state is aware of the issue and will be addressing it,” the DeKalb County spokesperson said.

A spokesperson for GDOT said the department’s district sign shop will correct the situation tomorrow, Dec. 13.

The mistake happened during the installation of traffic signal loops at the intersection of Scott Boulevard and North Decatur Road.
