The weather was appropriately chilly on Monday, Dec. 2, for the Annual City of Avondale Estates Christmas Tree Lighting. People were bundled up in their winter coats and cradled cups of hot chocolate courtesy of Boy Scout Troop 6, while listening to Christmas carols from the First Baptist Avondale Carolers, DeKalb School of the Arts and the Avondale Children’s Choir. When the singing ended the tree was lit and Santa arrived on a shiny red fire truck with candy for the children to top off the night’s festivities.
