On Saturday, Dec. 7, from 12 to 3 p.m., the Waffle House Museum is hosting their holiday open house event at 2719 E. College Avenue in Avondale Estates.

Attendees will get the chance to decorate a waffle and go on a free, hour-long tour of trivia and cultural history of Waffle House, all within the walls of the first Waffle House. This location in Avondale Estates was opened in 1955 by two friends in the neighborhood, after they agreed that the town “needed a 24-hour restaurant,” according to the Waffle House website.

In addition to interesting facts about Waffle House, at the Waffle House Museum, urban legends are told, like whether or not there are keys to this 24-hour joint that quite literally almost never closes.
