Decatur, GA — The Saturday Decatur Farmers Market relocated to Oakhurst this year but missed its April opening date because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organizers say they plan to open the market on Saturday, May 30, but there will be safety measures in place.

The market will be held in the parking lot of Sceptre Brewing Arts, located at 630 East Lake Drive. It starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. The market matches SNAP/EBT money with an equal amount of tokens for fruits and veggies.

“Hand-washing is mandatory for entering the market space, and we encourage one customer in each booth at a time, letting the vendor handle the products,” the announcement says. “You’ll find a wide market footprint with directed flow, spreading out vendors and creating space for customers to keep 6 feet apart. Credit cards are preferred at check out. Finally, Community Farmers Markets asks that all customers wear masks and to please leave dogs at home in order to increase personal space. We appreciate everyone’s support and understanding in keeping our community as safe as possible.”
