Tucker, GA — Dogs now have a place where they can run and play without a leash with the opening of the city of Tucker’s long awaited Henderson Park Dog Park.

Located on the Livsey side of Henderson Park, the wooded off leash park features separate fenced runs for large dogs 20 lbs. and over and small dogs 20 lbs. and under. The dog park is open during normal parks hours, dawn to dusk, (closed each Wednesday 9 a.m. – noon for maintenance) and the city requests dog owners follow pandemic protocols while inside the runs. Rules are posted at the front gate and dog waste stations are available at the entrance and inside the runs. The city says they are in the process of installing picnic tables and water fountains.

Dogs must be restrained while outside the fenced in area of the off leash park as well as in all city of Tucker Parks.

How to get there: Henderson Park’s address is 4000 Henderson Park Road and there are entrances on opposite sides of the park. To access the dog park, take Livsey Road off Chamblee Tucker Road (stop light at Livsey Elementary School.) Follow Livsey to the park entrance and go around the soccer fields and continue to the playground area. The off leash park is on the right.

Other amenities at Henderson Park include Lake Erin, over 6-miles of hiking trails and a native plant and wildlife walk. Visit the official city website at tuckerga.gov or the Friends of Tucker Parks at tuckerparks.org for more information on city of Tucker parks.
