Tucker, GA — The manager of a popular Tucker Chinese restaurant died on May 11 following an explosion in the kitchen.

DeKalb County Fire Rescue spokesperson Capt. Dion Bentley said the explosion occurred around 2 p.m. at Main Moon on Hugh Howell Road in Tucker.

“One person unfortunately succumbed to their injuries,” Bentley said. “It was a slow-cooker type deal that exploded. No fire or anything like that. We had to evacuate the building.”

Bentley added officials were not sure about the type of cooker that exploded. He did not have any additional details at this time.
