Tucker, GA — The Tucker City Council at its May 10 meeting will discuss repairs to the dam at Twin Brothers Lake.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. on May 10. This meeting’s held in person and electronically pursuant to O.C.G.A. 50-14-1(g): via ZOOM link;  <https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86050533530>  or Telephone: 888 788 0099 (Toll Free) ID: 860 5053 3530

The city is concerned about the condition of the two dams on Twin Brothers Lake as well as a severely eroded bypass channel adjacent to the lower lake. DeKalb County has contracted with AECOM to survey the lake, conduct an analysis of the hydrology and the dams, and recommend alternatives for remediation.

Two alternatives have been presented for consideration:

Alternative A – Repair the dams and spillways and fill the bypass channel.

Alternative B – Breach both dams, provide a drainage channel, and fill the bypass channel. Both alternatives include recommendations for recreation opportunities.
