Tucker organizations partner to address labor shortage by hosting Job Fair on May 12

Tucker, GA — The city of Tucker is experiencing an “economic renaissance” of new developments which is bringing thousands of jobs to the area.

In response to the growing need for a qualified and skilled workforce, Tucker Summit Community Improvement District (TSCID), Tucker-Northlake CID, the City of Tucker, WorkSource DeKalb and Georgia Piedmont Technical College (GPTC) are partnering to host the Tucker “Back to Business” Job Fair, a press release announced.

Media are invited to attend the event to speak with applicants or employers. Tucker’s largest employers including Macy’s, PepisCo, Tucker Brewing Company and more will be participating. More than 500 job seekers are expected to attend.

The organizations have engaged the refugee community in the neighboring City of Clarkston, second chance organizations working with non-violent ex-prisoners and have sent mobile career units to local apartment complexes to help with resume writing and interview skills.

The event will be COVID-19 compliant observing all health and safety precautions. Masks and a temperature check will be required prior to entry and separate entrances and exits will also be instituted for maximum efficiency with minimum exposure.
