Clarkston holding rescheduled Juneteenth event on June 26

Clarkston, GA — After being canceled due to bad weather, Clarkston will hold its rescheduled Juneteenth event this Saturday, June 26.
“Join us [on] June 26 at Milam Park, for the Juneteenth Celebration,” the announcement from the city says. “Due to rain on June 19, the Clarkston Juneteenth Event has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 26, from 11 am to 2 pm, at Clarkston’s Milam Park.”
The park is located at 3867 Norman Road. It will feature food, music, storytelling and more.
The holiday that marks the day, June 19, 1865, when Union troops made their way to Galveston, Texas, and read general order number three announcing that all enslaved African Americans in the state were legally free.
