Tucker, GA — DeKalb County Police on July 7 responded to a crash on U.S. 78 at Brockett Road that sent three good Samaritans to the hospital.
Police responded to the scene at 10:25 p.m. The three people had stopped to help the driver of a disabled SUV that was stranded in the roadway after hitting the median.
“Three people stopped to helped that driver and while attempting to help that driver, an unknown vehicle clipped the disabled vehicle, which pushed the disabled vehicle into the three people,” s spokesperson for the police department said. “Two of the three received moderate injuries and the third person received serious injuries. All were transported to a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle that struck the disabled vehicle, which eventually injured the three persons, has not been identified. If anyone has info, they’re asked to call detectives at 770-724-7610 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.”
The spokesperson said a fire truck that was on scene at the accident also was struck by a vehicle, but there were no injuries.
During the July 12 Tucker City Council meeting, City Council members discussed safety improvements that will be made to local roads following a fatal pedestrian crash along Brockett Road on June 10.
