Man shot at Stone Mountain gas station, has life-threatening injury

Stone Mountain, GA — DeKalb County Police are investigating a shooting at Valero gas station in Stone Mountain.

The gas station is located at the intersection Redan and Panola roads.

The shooting happened on Feb. 8 at 9:30 a.m., a spokesperson for the Police Department said.

“The victim, a male in his late 50s, continues to recover in a local hospital,” a spokesperson for the Police Department said. “Investigators believe the victim was at the location to service coin-operated machines when he was approached by an armed suspect. The suspect then shot the victim and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s injuries are considered to be life threatening and we have not identified a suspect. If anyone has any info on the shooting, they’re asked to call our East Investigations Unit at 770-482-0309 or Crime stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.”
