DeKalb County, GA – The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners voted March 22 to engage the Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE) to develop a holistic lens through which equity is pursued throughout county government practices, a press release said.

Partnership for Southern Equity, an Atlanta-based nonprofit and a national leader in equity strategies and practices, will help the county to develop an innovative, ambitious, equitable, and data-driven comprehensive equity strategy.

“We are excited about this partnership and recognize the importance of collecting the voice of our employees”, said Commissioner Larry Johnson. “Equity is the process of identifying and removing the barriers that create disparities in the access to resources nd means, and the achievement of fair treatment and equal opportunities to thrive.”

The Partnership for Southern Equity will provide internal interviews, trainings, reports and recommendations while helping guide DeKalb County’s network of officials and staff in examining institutional systems surrounding the county’s attainment of equitable opportunities.
