Decatur, GA — Jack and Jill Consignment Boutique is closing on April 30 after 20 years in business.

The business provided children’s clothing, toys, books and other equipment.

Owner Lisa Doesburg said, “While we have been challenged by customers shifting to online shopping such as Amazon and Facebook Marketplace, COVID-19 really took a toll on business. I have fought hard to stay open for two years, but unfortunately, I’m going to have to close.”

The mission of the business is to “safely reduce, reuse and recycle” children’s gently used merchandise, the announcement says.

“Doesburg guarantees that all equipment meets current safety standards as provided by the Consumer Product Safety Commission,” the announcement says. “A certified car seat inspector, Doesburg takes safety seriously by passing her knowledge on to her customers.”

“For 20 years we have provided a service to our community and I will miss the daily interactions with our wonderful customers who supported us by shopping local,” Doesburg said.

Jack and Jill will hold a closing sale from March 1 to April 30 with discounts increasing every two weeks.

“Jack and Jill Consignment Boutique is located at 2753 E. College Ave. Decatur,” the announcement says. “They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10-5. 404-508-0611. https://www.facebook.com/jackandjillavondale”
