Tucker, GA — Tucker High School Foundation (THSF) is hosting its annual golf tournament on March 20 at 1 p.m. The 2021 tournament will include the first women’s flight.

Held at Stone Mountain Park’s Lakemont course, proceeds go to support academic and enrichment programs for students of Tucker High School.

“We are looking for more board members to serve on the Foundation. It’s been difficult to recruit parents and community members during COVID,” said Frances Vogel, whose youngest child will graduate from THS this year. “Our mission is to support students and teachers, and we do this by fundraising. It’s rewarding to see the faces light up when you give them scholarships and grants. It’s all about serving the high school.”

THSF provides a $2,000 scholarship to two graduating seniors. To qualify, students must have applied for full-time admission at an accredited university, have a 3.0 GPA, have attended THS for a minimum of three years and be enrolled in the DeKalb County Schools Free and Reduced Meal Program. The application deadline is March 31.

Local businesses and city council members are supporters, including Councilmembers Anne Lerner and Roger Orlando, Tucker Brewing Company, Hobart/JES Food Equipment, Universal Fitness, Above All Restoration and Construction, Potter Law, Chick-fil-A, Tracy’s Medicine Center, Publix, Marco’s Pizza and Labeled Lighting.
