Chick-fil-A going to Tucker Planning Commission with new plan

Tucker, GA — Chick-fil-A is headed back to Tucker Planning Commission at 7 p.m. on April 21 with a new plan to disrupt not just one, but now two residential streets. The meeting is being held in person at City Hall and on Zoom.

Residents of Rosser Terrace have been fighting the plan to enter and exit a potential new Chick-fil-A drive-thru at 4435 Hugh Howell Road. From the public participation meeting in May 2021 to a community engagement meeting held in January by the city of Tucker, Rosser Terrace residents have consistently stated: No More Chicken.

After requesting a full cycle deferral from City Council on March 14, Chick-fil-A’s latest plan adds a parcel at 2239 Dillard St. to allow for two access points. The Dillard Street access runs between a property zoned R-75 (residential) and C-1 (commercial).

Dillard Street is an off-shoot of Cowan Road. It’s a residential road with on-street parking. Residents have been vocal about how the new plan could affect Cowan Road’s traffic flow, saying Zaxby’s and Enzo’s Pizza already cause problems.

Planning Commission will also hear an application from Embry Development Company to build townhomes on Lawrenceville Highway.
