Tucker, GA — Tucker Planning Committee is meeting on Thursday, July 21. One item is on the agenda: to revise city code on parking.

Staff is proposing to make amendments to allow pervious pavers as a parking material for residential lots. The code currently requires that “all vehicles shall be parked on a paved surface that is connected to and has continuous paved access to a public or private street.”

With an increase in residential requests to use pervious pavers, city staff is recommending flexibility to provide options to residents, a memo said.

Director of Community Development Courtney Smith said revisions to the code will benefit residential homeowners by allowing them more options for residential driveways, turnarounds and parking pads. It also allows for more environmentally friendly options, Smith said.

The Tucker Planning Commission, a recommending body, will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1975 Lakeside Parkway, suite 350B. The proposed changes will be presented to the city council on Aug. 8 for a first read and Sept. 12 for a second read and vote.
