Decaturish is $5,706 away from reaching its fall fundraising goal
Decaturish raised nearly $1,500 yesterday after reminding readers about our fall fundraising event. The money will help cover end-of-year operating costs and allow us to cover stories we wouldn’t be able to cover otherwise.
The company has undergone some significant changes in the last couple of months. We’ve hired a new ad sales representative, Corey Redding, and we had to cut back on freelance work significantly during that transition. Thanks to our supporters and Redding’s efforts, we have been able to start bringing back freelance writers to cover more of the stories you care about.
Providing local news for free is a tricky business model to master. Many people try their hand at this and fail. But Decaturish is now headed into its 10th year of being an indispensable local news source for Decatur and its surrounding communities.
We couldn’t do that without you. If you depend on us for local news, please know that we depend on you to keep us going. If you haven’t contributed yet, please help us meet our $20,000 goal. To contribute to our fundraiser, click here.
