Tucker, GA — DeKalb County Police have provided new information about a hit-and-run collision in the Northlake area that left a man critically injured.

Police arrested a juvenile in connection with the Nov. 9 incident. The victim, a man in his 30s, has died, police said.

“On Nov. 9, a reckless driver was doing donuts in the parking lot at 4310 Lavista Road, when he was confronted by a concerned citizen,” a press release from the DeKalb County Police Department says. “When the driver attempted to flee the area, the victim was struck and later died from his injuries. Diligent work by our Traffic Specialist Unit led to the identification and location of the suspect vehicle. Once located, the suspect was spotted wearing the same clothes from the hit-and-run. The suspect was arrested without incident.”

A police spokesperson said the suspect’s name will not be released due to his age. He’s charged with reckless driving, hit-and-run and serious injury by motor vehicle, which will be upgraded to first degree homicide by vehicle.
