We might pull this off: Decaturish only needs $4,500 to meet its fall fundraising goalThe Oakhurst Community Choir performs during the annual holiday lighting at Harmony Park in Decatur’s Oakhurst neighborhood on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023. Photo by Dean Hesse.
With at Dec. 21 deadline around the corner, the goal is within reach. Decaturish only needs $4,500 to meet its $25,000 fall fundraising goal. To contribute now and help us reach our goal, click here. Last year, readers helped us exceed our fall fundraising goal of $20,000, and we’re hoping they will step in to help us exceed our goal again.
As we stated in an earlier post about our fundraiser, this has been a challenging year in a challenging landscape for all media companies. We know we are not unique in that regard. We also know things have been a challenge for our readers. The cost of living has gone up, but more often than not, your paycheck hasn’t. Everything we do feels like a grind and a struggle. If you haven’t been able to help us this year for those reasons, we understand. We’re still here to serve you and keep you in the loop about what’s going on in your community.
For those of us who can help and did, thank you. That means the world to us. To those of you that haven’t, we need you. This work depends on readers (and our advertisers!) to keep it going and to ensure that it’s free for everyone, not stuck behind an annoying pay wall. Keeping Decaturish in business means keeping your neighbors informed and your local elected officials accountable. That matters to us. If it matters to you, click here to contribute to the fundraiser.
