Raising Heck with Native Plants

Two locals are teaming up to offer a free class on native plants and DIY workshops on planters and backyard composting at Heck.house on October 3rd, Sat from 10am to 2pm. There will also be a sale on native plants and handmade planters.

Heather from the one-woman nursery, Under the Canopy Native Plants will be discussing “Going Native: why and how to use native plants in your garden” at 10:30 am and again at 1:30pm. She will be offering some of her plants for sale.

Khalifa from Falah Farm will be doing Grow Up Anywhere: Building Food Systems demonstrations on raised garden beds & planters at 11 am and backyard composting at 12:30 pm. He will have some of his handmade projects for sale.

The event is outdoors. Wearing a mask and social distancing is required. There will be free masks and hand sanitizer onsite. The event is rain or shine. If it rains, we have pavilion and pop-up canopies to provide cover.
