The United Methodist Children’s Home (UMCH) will host its annual summer flea market on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15.

The flea market will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 500 S. Columbia Dr. in Decatur.

It will be the last flea market held at UMCH’s Decatur campus on South Columbia Drive. This year the city of Decatur decided to buy the property from UMCH for $40 million.

Items ranging from furniture, electronics, art, sporting goods, flatware and more will be available for purchase at the flea market, along with plants, baked goods and beverages, all at bargain prices, the announcement says. Proceeds from the sale will benefit existing UMCH programs such as Foster Care, Family Housing, Independent Living and Transitional Living across North Georgia.

According to their website, the UMCH hosts these large-scale markets three times a year, drawing in thousands of visitors. They also have held markets every Thursday morning.

The fall flea market will be held at a new location, according to John Cerniglia, Vice President of Development at The United Methodist Children’s Home. He said the new location will be announced at a later date.

UMCH will vacate its Decatur campus in the coming months.

The market is free to visit and open to the public. All major credit cards are accepted.

For more information or to volunteer, visit the flea market website or call 404-327-5820.
