Taiyo Ramen announced on Thursday, June 27, that it will be closing its doors this Saturday.

“After a wonderful 5 years at Taiyo, we will be closing our doors at the end of the week,” the company said in a Facebook post. “Our final day of service will be Saturday, June 29th. Although, we are sad about closing, we are truly appreciative of the support from all of our guests, the City of Decatur and the Decatur community. We thank all of our amazing staff who have been essential in making Taiyo special over the years. Rest assure that we have placed all of them within other Korean Wives Hospitality Group Restaurants.”

Korean Wives Hospitality also owns Son of a Bear in Oakhurst. Owner Michael Lo said that restaurant will remain open.

“We will miss this place and the people that filled it,” the company said. “We will have normal operating hours for the rest of this week; serving dinner Thursday, then both lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, June 29th. We look forward to celebrating with all of you so come on by for a final toast, bun or bowl. Cheers!”
